Trauma and Anxiety

Stressful Coffee

A young girl came to meet me for coffee one morning. As she arrived, I noticed just how out of breath she was. So, I asked if she was alright, to which she responded that she was stressed and anxious. She explained that her train journey to meet me had been traumatic for her.

For many years she has suffered from anxiety whenever she had to travel on public transport. She was afraid of getting lost, or missing her stop and unable to find her way back. So, to help her get by, she would often listen to music, or call a friend during her journey to take her mind off the anxiety and stress.

Deliverance

After a few sips of tea, I asked if I could pray for her to have peace. She agreed. As I prayed for her, she began to shake. I knew then that a demon was manifesting, the spirit of Anxiety. I took authority over it, and commanded it to leave her in the Name of Jesus. It travelled from the left side of her body (where I was, and where I had laid my hands on her) to her right side... as if it was afraid. It then went through her right arm, and out through her fingers.

A calmness suddenly came over her. She was so surprised that she could feel so calm, as only a few moments earlier she had felt completely the opposite. I told her that a demon had been responsible for her feelings of anxiety and stress. And now that it has gone, she has become what God had designed her to be: a calm person.

Sealing the Healing

I knew too well that when a demon leaves, the space that it leaves behind has to be filled with the Holy Spirit, as otherwise the demon would come back with seven others more wicked than itself. As Jesus stated:

Matthew 12:43-45

“When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”

And so, I began to pray for the Holy Spirit to come and fill her. Not long after, she began to smile and giggle. She said that she could feel something good and joyful going into her heart, and touching parts of her heart. She then added that she has not smiled for a long time, and now she can't help smiling. She was trying to stop her lips from going wide into a smile, but she couldn't stop it.

I was thrilled to see this, and I told her not to stop smiling. It was the Holy Spirit filling her and healing her. I suggested to her to just enjoy and cherish every moment.

I have known this girl for nine years, and I suddenly realised that (as far as I could remember) up until that point I had never actually seen her smile! But now, here she was - smiling right before my eyes! I praised God, and asked Him to fill her more and more. And so He did, and it went on for some time.

Trauma and Forgiveness

After her "smiling session" with God, we came back to normality, and our conversation continued. The young lady then explained how she started feeling stressed and anxious after a traumatic event in which she was cornered by a man who wanted to kiss her against her will. As she recounted that event, the feeling of trauma came back to her as real as it was then.

At this point, I discerned the spirit of Trauma residing in her body. I told her of this information, and gave her the option of casting it out of her body, just like the spirit of Anxiety. However, for this to happen, she would need to forgive the man who tried to force himself upon her. She agreed to do so and proceeded to forgive him.

After this, I began casting out the spirit of Trauma. The demon started manifesting, just like the previous one, however it was holding on and not leaving at all. It had gone along her arms, and now at the tips of her fingers, but it wasn't budging.

So, I asked the young lady if there was anyone else she needed to forgive who had traumatised her? Her ex-boyfriend came to her mind. As she forgave him, the demon left her fingers without so much as a word from me, right there and then!

It was powerful to watch -- now I see just how powerful forgiveness is, and the instant effect it can have on a person's healing and deliverance.

Going Home

As our coffee time came to an end, it was time for the young lady to take the train back home. I told her to text me when she got home to tell me about her journey, and this is what she wrote,

"Hi :) I didn't really feel the need to listen to music on the train. Had a big sleep when I got back...LOL. Thank you very much for today."

I was so happy to read that! No music on the train! Hallelujah!

Praise God for her healing and deliverance. All glory be to Father God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
